Satyajit Trust was created in Ahmedabad as a public trust to preserve the memory of Satyajit Vaidya and to serve society through long-term developmental work. The trust deed states that its work is centered on children and mothers, while also extending to laborers, artisans, small farmers, and economically or socially vulnerable groups.

To build a more compassionate and equitable society where children, women, and families have access to education, well being, creativity, dignity, and opportunity.

To promote the all-round development of children, mothers, laboring communities, artisans, and vulnerable families through social, educational, cultural, economic, health, and awareness-based initiatives. The trust also aims to strengthen human rights awareness and encourage active social participation wherever support is needed.

The trust deed gives Satyajit Trust a broad social mandate. Key areas include:

• Early childhood support, including balwadi, anganwadi, playgroup, hostels, schools, and educational support.
• Scholarships, training camps, research centers, libraries, and knowledge resources for students and communities.
• Cultural development through music, dance, theater, arts, expression, and creativity-building activities for children.
• Health initiatives such as diagnostic camps, eye and medical camps, blood donation awareness, and support for maternal and child health.
• Livelihood and vocational support for women, laborers, artisans, small farmers, and grassroots communities.
• Relief support during natural disasters and efforts toward social and economic justice, including support against child labor.

Satyajit Trust is designed to function through trustees, committees, and advisory support so that its work can expand responsibly across different activities and regions. The deed also allows the trust to collaborate, create sub-committees, run programmes, publish material, and build initiatives that serve its social objectives in a practical way.
